My youngest son came home from school the other day and told me that Dogs Trust had been in to his school that day. He was so chuffed that they had got to stroke the dogs and were able to talk to the Dogs Trust people and find out all about them. They had also asked all the children to design a poster. So I asked what the poster was for, to which he replied, “to pick up the poo!”
This made me smile!! As young as my son is, he knows that when one of our dogs does a poo either inside or out of the garden, it must be picked up. I said “well you know plenty about that don’t you?” to which he replied with a giggle, “oh yes!”.
It does amaze me when I’m out and about, how much dog mess I see everywhere, do people not realise that they can get fined for this if they ever get caught? Also, how much of our council tax money it costs to clean it up?!? I also wonder if they are aware that if a young child gets it in their eyes it could blind them! It really is truly ridiculous and does anger me.
Yes, I am the crazy lady in the park who will call you back when your dog has dropped one – I make no apologies for that! I’ll gladly give you the bag though to pick it up, so there really is no excuse.
When I am out running, it also annoys me that I have to dodge every pile of poop along the way, to which I have now officially crowned myself an “Olympic Gold Winner in Dog Poo Jumping”!! Now that would be funny to see at the next Olympic games!
So, in support of the Dogs Trust The Big Scoop campaign and to be fair, I bet the majority of you reading this will already clean up after your dog, but we really need to educate other dog owners to please pick it up! Otherwise, I can only rely on karma and if you don’t clean up after your dog the next time you are out and about, I hope you step in a huge steaming pile of it!!
